Spektra Digital is an independent web design and development studio of eighteen strategists, designers and engineers working from Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
Our story
Started in a shophouse, measured in results
Spektra began in 2016 as two freelancers sharing a single desk above a kopitiam on Jalan Alor. Our first client — a family-run furniture maker — asked a question that still defines us: “Nice design, but will it sell more sofas?”
We didn't have a confident answer then. We built one. Today every project we take on starts with a commercial target and ends with a measurement report. That discipline has carried us through 140+ launches for manufacturers, resorts, clinics, logistics firms and fast-growing D2C brands across Malaysia and the region.
We remain deliberately independent and deliberately mid-sized: big enough to run research, design and engineering under one roof; small enough that a founder still reviews every project that leaves the studio.

Four principles we won't compromise on
No black boxes
You get clean, documented code, full admin access and a plain-language explanation of every technical choice. If you left us tomorrow, your site would still be yours.
Honest scoping
If a RM15,000 fix beats a RM80,000 rebuild, we'll say so — even when it costs us the bigger invoice. Long relationships out-earn short ones.
Launch is day one
A website is a living asset. We stay engaged after go-live, watching real behaviour and improving the pages that matter most to your bottom line.
Milestones
Nine years, briefly
- 2016
- Founded above a kopitiam on Jalan Alor with one shared desk and a borrowed monitor.
- 2018
- First national design award; the team grows to six and moves to a proper studio in Bukit Bintang.
- 2021
- Launched our conversion research practice — user testing, heatmapping and experimentation as a standalone service.
- 2023
- Crossed 100 launched projects; first clients in Singapore and Australia.
- 2025
- Eighteen people, 38 industry awards, and a client retention rate we're prouder of than either number.
